STORY:

I had such an epiphany this moment.

I had been on the road with Allila for about 6 months just getting lost all over the country.

Literally. I would just drive out to wherever my heart and soul called out to. I didn’t know it at the time but I needed this. The adventure I have been longing for all my life.

You see, deep down inside, I knew it in my core that my time in Miami was coming to an end.

It was a bit frightening leaving everything behind but it truly was a summer of absolute freedom man.

From Florida to California and everywhere in between.

I thought I was getting lost all over the country but in reality I was lost in Miami. I was actually finally finding myself.

So here I am in Death Valley. What a name huh?

The hottest temperatures on Earth were actually recorded right here!

I spotted this guy walking around Zabriskie Point so I immediately focused on him in hopes to get a composition where you could really get a sense of scale of the landscape.

He would pop up from the canyons for a bit up to the top and then come back down. A couple minutes would pass and he would pop up in a different spot and then come back down. Never quite popping up in the exact spot I wanted him to. But life doesn’t always give you what you want and then… It all just clicked. Peaks and Valleys!

I wasn’t entire lost. But I wasn’t entirely found neither.

Maybe this journey of self discovery wasn’t as poetic as I thought it was. Even if I did “find myself” does that mean I would never be lost again? Probably not honestly.

You have good times and you have bad times.

Life will have you on a high but I promise it’ll bring you down up eventually. Life just isn’t linear you know?

He finally popped up in the exact spot I needed him to.

Almost as an assurance that just like him, I was on the right path.
