STORY:
 
It’s true. The most meaningful photographs for me are always accompanied by a strong emotion or feeling. 
 
This is most definitely one of those. I was at a point in my journey where I had just arrived to California without much direction. 
 
I was still traveling all over the country since nowhere in specific felt like home but I quickly found a sense of belonging I hadn’t felt in other states. 
 
California truly has everything to offer when it comes to nature and that was a big part of it. But I also found a community here of likeminded people which was fundamental in fostering that feeling of home. 
 
After traveling all over for 2 years, somewhere was actually starting to feel like I belonged.  
 
This particular moment was photographed camping with some homies I had just met. 
 
We road-tripped out somewhere to the outskirts of Bishop and called the Eastern Sierras our home for the weekend. 
 
There’s tons of BLM land out there to camp on so it’s a paradise for us who enjoy life outdoors. 
 
We explored, hiked mountains, swam in alpine lakes, rode bikes, cooked in nature. All the things I love with people that loved it just as much. It was a very cool feeling. 
 
This state just seemed to present me the most down to earth like minded people and it was awesome.
 
It’s very true what they say after all, people do make the place. 
 
The last morning before heading out I woke up to this exact frame. 
 
The moon perfectly balanced between the mountains.
 
Not up in the sky traveling by its own. 
 
But hanging out with the homies. 
 
Would have to be a fool to not connect the dots. 
 
I was obviously home. 
 
I am home.
